Keynote Topics

Unprepared for Fortune
Tackling the Top 10 Challenges of Sudden Wealth
Whether it’s an unexpected multi-million-dollar inheritance or a sports rookie's first big contract, sudden wealth is a double-edged sword. It presents a world of possibility, yet also comes with its fair share of burdensome challenges. Family coming out of the woodwork, decision fatigue, and conflicting financial advice—sudden wealth isn’t always the blessing it appears to be.
In this wildly engaging talk, Michael B. Karwic walks audiences through the ten most common pitfalls of sudden wealth, sharing headline hits and cautionary tales of lottery winners, professional athletes, and everyday people unprepared for fortune.
With honest advice for advisory teams, audiences learn how to help clients navigate the emotional highs and lows of sudden wealth and develop a long-term plan that makes the most of their fortune. This talk resonates with financial advisors, estate planners, attorneys, CPAs, and other professionals looking to better serve the needs of sudden high-net-worth clients.

Raising Grounded Heirs
How To Inspire the Next Generation of Wealth Stewards
Beyond the transfer of assets and management of trusts and estates, multi-generational wealth is a story of family values, legacy, and financial stewardship. For some families, wealth brings unity and a sense of purpose. For others, wealth can cause rifts and resentment that last for generations.
With candor and wit, Michael B. Karwic speaks directly to multi-generational families and their professional advisors on how to raise grounded, competent heirs who can handle wealth, responsibility, and leadership.
Delightfully realistic and richly applicable, Michael teaches audiences how to have difficult conversations about money, set healthy boundaries within families, spot the signs of entitlement, and inspire the next generation of heirs to be torchbearers of their family’s legacy.

Save Time, Build Trust, and Win as One Unified Advisory Team
There are several moving parts when helping families manage their wealth, especially in times of transition. From estate planners to family attorneys, insurance agents to CPAs, wealth management involves an entire team of skilled professionals to serve the client’s needs. Unfortunately, too many advisors see themselves as siloed professionals with one isolated function, rather than as a collaborative team working towards a common goal.
In this highly tactical talk, Michael B. Karwic teaches advisors across disciplines how to save time, build trust, and win as a unified team. More than collaboration, it’s the art of communication—putting in the 1% more to keep all parties on the same page and moving forward.
With practical tips for cost communication, meeting management, and shared client care, advisors walk away with renewed purpose and clear next steps to better serve their clients. It is a must-hear presentation for professionals in any field who serve individuals and families facing pivotal life decisions and complex financial change.
